WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?


Hello to all of you out there and thank you for coming back to visit me here. Since my blog is about Courage, Confidence and Connections, let's explore a little on the subject of thinking. This will take courage I can assure you. Do you think about what you are thinking about? Does that sound strange to you?

Life can be crazy sometimes and often take us for a crazy trip. If you will visit your own mind sometimes, you may discover that you are the driver or pilot of the craft. Our thoughts are very powerful with the ability to take over our lives while we are hanging out in the back seat or being a sleepy co-pilot. The universe fascinates me in many ways with how it is ever expanding it's horizons. Okay, we live on earth and what "in the world" does that have to do with what or how we think, you ask?

You are constantly creating your life with your thoughts whether it is intentional or unintentional. Sit a for a little while and consider where you are in life and check how you got there. Are you where you want to be or are you simply along for the ride regardless of who's driving? Your subconscious is programmed by an early age, however, you can change what you are putting in there. I heard Dr. Joe Dispenza, and others in the field of science and study of the body / brain connection, say that we only use 5% of our conscious mind and 95% of our lives are run from the subconscious mind. Thus my question, "What are you thinking?"

Dr. Caroline Leaf has an insightful book I read over 10 years ago titled, "Who Switched Off My Brain?". When I read it I was greatly enlightened in this area but didn't keep it in mind most of those last 10 years until very recently while educating myself to help me change how I think. She says in this book, "Controlling your thought life is not about a destination, it is about a journey." That is so true!

Another quote from the same book is, "The more you think, the more you understand. The more focused and aware your thinking, the more this synergy will occur, and the stronger the memory you will build." We can all use more memory cells. In addition to this positive occurrence, every time you learn something new, and keep revisiting it, your brain grows new synaptic connections. And one more thought from Dr. Leaf is "It is not a good idea to let thoughts wander unchecked through your mind, as the bad ones have as much a chance of hanging around on the trees as the good ones."

There you have a minute picture of why I am encouraging you to consider your thoughts and monitor them continuously. We are all busy I know, however it will be worth it to take time for yourself, slow down and 'think about what you are thinking about'. Explore a new frontier, your mind! 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 blast off......
